I’ve got to admit, straight off the bat, that initially I wasn’t stunned by the results of the Jumiso Brightening and Balancing Serum – but I have to also admit that my initial impressions were completely wrong, and I’m going to explain why my mind was changed over this little, but powerful orange bottle.
I was selected by Jumiso as part of their reviewer programme to post my thoughts about this vitamin serum, along with a big group of other bloggers and instagrammers – so there should now be a wealth of information online and on social media about both the brand and the product. Nevertheless, I’m going to give my own quick background, to help you learn a little more about Jumiso and why this serum came into creation.
Who are Jumiso?
Jumiso are part of the Helloskin K-beauty brand, famous for their great value sheetmasks, which you may have seen online with their cute illustrations – the owner’s dog makes a feature throughout their adorable designs! Helloskin not only strive to offer great value products, but they also are keen to offer their customers the best possible products based on consumer feedback. In fact, this Vitamin Brightening and Balancing Serum came about thanks to consumer feedback – Jumiso already had a vitamin serum on the market (Drop the Vita C Facial Serum), but it was completely reformulated and redesigned as they listened to what their users had to say. That’s great service and it’s really cool to see brands listening to customer feedback – that fact alone made me eager to try out this new serum.

I’ve highlighted in bold some of the ingredients which stand out to me and which I think are worth pointing out. The serum’s star ingredient, with a concentration of 86.14%, is the sea buckthorn, or ‘vitamin tree’ extract, highlighted in the list as hippophae rhamnoides fruit extract. This contains various vitamin complexes, including A, B, C, D, E, and K, which help to promote skin recovery, wound healing, and general brightening of the skin.
I’ve also highlighted sodium hyaluronate (hyaluronic acid) for its moisturising properties, and centella asiatica and camellia sinesis leaf extract for their soothing and calming abilities. I’ve also highlighted licorice root extract as it’s a personal favourite ingredient of mine – it helps to soothe the skin and brighten dull tone, making it appear revitalised and lighter.
The serum comes in a 30ml orange bottle, which is a really pretty colour and jazzes up your routine no end. Of course, packaging is so much more than simply shape and colour, and it’s important to note that this product is dispensed via a dropper. Thanks to the fact that the serum is so fluid, it’s very easy to dispense and I’ve never had a problem with the dropper itself or with the packaging design. It’s lightweight, easy to use, and easy to take travelling with you thanks to its 30ml size.
This serum is light and fluid, with no sticky or oily feel to it. Unlike other vitamin serums, it doesn’t have a ‘heating’ sensation as you apply, and, unlike others I’ve used, it leaves no tacky finish behind. It is very light and liquid, spreading easily and absorbing quickly. Thanks to this liquid texture, using the dropper is a dream and it’s easy to measure the exact quantity you want.
Most importantly, though, how does it perform? I honestly didn’t think, at first, that I was seeing a huge difference. I should note that my skin recently has been pretty bad, with red flushes and itchiness which I blame on the pollen in the air here in Barcelona (when I went on holiday this cleared up pretty quickly, and now I’m back the itchy redness is back!). So any serum and any product I use right now has tough work. Luckily, though, I took pictures before using the serum, and kept track of my progress through the weeks. When I looked at the difference in my skin tone 3 weeks later, I was so surprised – my skin tone had indeed brightened, with a marked difference which I hadn’t been able to notice day by day in the mirror, but which shone through on pictures.
You can notice the difference between the two pictures, comparing before, and after 3 weeks of using the facial serum.
Now I’ve seen the results, I’m pleasantly surprised. No, I don’t think the results are drastic, but drastic results are one in a million – we all expect miracles from our skin care these days, but small and subtle changes are much more realistic, and rewarding when we do experience them.
At the price, I’d definitely purchase this product myself. I think it’s a good deal for 30ml of product, and you’ll probably get about 4-5 weeks use out of it, morning and night, if you don’t dispense too much at a time.
The difference for me was undeniable when I saw the two pictures side by side – and I’m so glad I chose to take pictures. It showed me that my eyes and mind are not as reliable as my skin care products!
I think that if Jumiso continue to listen to consumer feedback and constantly tweak and improve their products, they’ll grow their customer base and loyalty in no time. I’d like to thank the brand for sending me the product for review, and thank them for listening to their reviewers and their customers.
